My favourite pictures of my travels

My travels of 2022/23 include 7 months in Australia, 1 month in New Zealand and 2 weeks in Bali.
I did all of this as a solo traveler, finding new friends on the way with whom I had lots of adventures.
Of course, I took a lot of pictures along the way to remember the best time of my life (so far).
I am usually not impressed with my camera quality and let others take pictures when I am not alone and get them sent to me, but sometimes I had to take pictures myself because nobody was around, or I wanted that specific picture taken.
Don’t get me wrong, I still take lots of pictures, but they don’t look the best.
I am especially proud of the following pictures.
I think in those my quality is good, and I love every single thing on them.
Because it would be boring to just look at the photos, I’ll explain each situation a bit, but if you are only here for the pretty pictures (fair enough), you can skip the text. 🙂

Shells at Alexandria Bay

Alexandria Bay is the bottom part of Noosa National park and is a lonely beach.
I hiked there with some friends, and we found piles of beautiful shells along the whole beach.
I took some shells from there after taking pictures and was especially happy about all the “coffee bean trivia shells” I found because I have never found them anywhere else.

Byron Bay lighthouse

I just love the lighthouse at Byron Bay.
It’s so pretty and the perfect spot for a sunset or sunrise.
You can look over the ocean, and we even spotted dolphins and turtles in the water beneath us.
This place will forever be one of my favorites!

Rottnest island

This picture got taken before we left rottnest island by ferry.
We took the last ferry back to the mainland and were able to watch the sunset from the island.
Sunsets on Australia’s west coast are my favorites.
They color the sky in every shade of red and yellow, which turns into pink and purple after the sun sets over the horizon.
Unpopular opinion (or popular, I don’t know): I like the sky better after the sun already set and clouds get all pink.

Western Australia

Of course, it is another sunset and the sky is in beautiful colors.
This was our setup, wild camping 2 hours south of Exmouth where we stayed because there was a solar eclipse in Exmouth and all the campgrounds in and around the town were full and that was the closest one that was not 140 AUD a night.
Even though we had to wake up at 5 am to drive up to Exmouth for the solar eclipse to watch it at a lonely beach, we had a peaceful camping spot right at the beach.

South Beach Fremantle

This beach will forever be my favorite spot to watch the sunset.
I spent my first evening there when I arrived in Perth, and also my last one.
I took this picture on my last day in Perth, which was also my last evening in Australia.
This just portraits perfectly why I love this place so much!

Waiheke island

This island is near Auckland in New Zealand and so peaceful.
I love the ocean and hills in New Zealand.
It looks so tropical and magical to me.
I remember going to the beach on my own after taking this picture, reading under a tree on a rock while it was raining. Going skinny-dipping afterward and walking back barefoot, in my warm sweater, jumping through the muddy grass.
I just felt so free and happy at this moment.
I will forever remember this as a moment of endless happiness (you should have seen me writing this right now being endless happy and crying of gratefulness that I was able to experience all of this).

Bay of islands at Northland

This was on a road trip, and we just had to park at the side of the road because of the beautiful nature.
At this moment, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing was real.
The deep blue ocean meeting the bright green grass left me speechless.
New Zealand is truly stunning!

Tegallalang rice terraces

In Bali, we visited a rice terrace, and it looked so pretty with the sun setting.
I am very impressed how they harvest and grow the rice there.
We also had the whole rice terrace for ourselves because it was in the late afternoon, and it closed after us.

This was only a collection of some of my favorite pictures.
There are many more that my friends took, and all of my pictures just make me remember the amazing memories I’ve made.
