When you start pen paling or even after a few letters you don’t have any more ideas of things to write about.
To help you with that, I made a list about stuff you can tell your pen pal about.
You can also form these into questions to ask your pen pal!
When getting to know a person, it might be hard to know where to start telling them about you.
I suggest taking it slow and start with basic things you would be comfortable telling a stranger.
- Your hobbies and interests
- Your family members
- Your pets
- Your school
- Your middle name
- Your birthdate
- Your star sign
- Your favourite and least favourite food
- Your city and your area
- Your plans for the future
When you know them a bit better, and you feel comfortable telling them more about your life, you can get more into detail.
Tell them things you would tell a distant friend who wants to get to know you better.
- Your last or next vacation
- Places you would like to visit
- Family traditions during and celebrations
- What happened in your recent life
- Your favourite season and why
- What you are like (quiet/ bubbly/ outgoing/ shy)
- What your pet peeves are
- Your style of clothes
- If you like wearing make up/ jewellery
- A series you are currently watching
- What the weather is like right now where you are
- What you usually have for breakfast
- A person you’re a fan of
- Books or movies you like
And if you feel like good friends, you can tell them more personal stuff.
- Your goals for this year
- Things you did with friends
- Weird obsessions you have
- Exams at school
- Your greatest fear
- What your room looks like
- Weird obsessions you have
- Exams at school
- What you liked about your childhood
- Your crush
- What you are currently missing
You have to figure out how much you want to let them know about you.
Have a look how much they tell you about themselves and think about if you are comfortable talking about that too.
You never have to write about things you don’t want to tell them.
Just ignore a question you don’t want to answer.
They probably already forgot they asked that anyway.
I hope this helped a bit.
Have fun, writing your letter!
